Next Generation Wired/Wireless Networks and Systems

The International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (IJNDC) is pleased to announce a special issue dedicated to Next-Generation Wired/Wireless Networks and Systems, aimed at showcasing cutting-edge research and advancements that are shaping the future of communication technologies.

As networking systems evolve rapidly to support higher data rates, ultra-low latency, massive connectivity, and increased reliability, this special issue invites original contributions that explore innovative architectures, protocols, algorithms, and deployment strategies across both wired and wireless domains.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: 6G networks, software-defined networking, edge/cloud integration, network virtualization, and security in next-gen infrastructures.

This special issue provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals to present and discuss emerging trends, challenges, and solutions in the development of future networking systems. Submissions that bridge theory and practice, demonstrate experimental validation, or propose novel frameworks for real-world applications in smart cities, autonomous systems, industrial IoT, and beyond are especially encouraged. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review to ensure the highest quality and impact.

Hojjat Baghban

Dr. Hojjat Baghban is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Chang Gung University, Taiwan, where he leads the Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems Research Group. He received his Ph.D. from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. His research focuses on edge AI, edge–cloud continuum, intelligent network orchestration, and reinforcement learning. He is also Associate Editor for IJNDC, Publicity Chair at CCGRID 2026 and DataCom 2022, and serves as Workshop Chair for NEW2AN 2025.

Sachin Sharma

Dr. Sachin Sharma is Chief Manager (Systems) at State Bank of India with 17+ years of experience across SBI, TCS, and IBM. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering and is a certified PMP, TOGAF, and Oracle professional. He was awarded a prestigious research fellowship by IIBF & IDRBT. His research interests include AI, cloud computing, secure distributed systems, and 6G. He has published widely and organized multiple IEEE workshops.

Yevgeni Koucheryavy

Dr. Yevgeni Koucheryavy (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, and Dr.habil. from MTUCI University, Russia. He is a Full Professor and Director at the Research and Development Institute of HSE University, Moscow. He has authored numerous publications in advanced wired and wireless networking, with current research in heterogeneous networks and emerging communication technologies.

Abid Mehmood

Dr. Abid Mehmood is an Assistant Professor at Abu Dhabi University. His research focuses on machine learning applications in cybersecurity, including secure data transmission, intrusion detection, and privacy-preserving AI. He has led multiple funded projects and published in high-impact journals.
